All Rivers Run Dry

A 2 track roots reggae single (8m 40s) — released April 9th 2021 on Upstir Records

Upstir records present the second release from the Jamaican veteran and visually impaired artist 'King Kurk'. Inspired by his faith in Rastafari Kurk delivers a classic piece of authentic Jamaican roots reggae song writing. His lyrics steeped in spiritual metaphor as he warns mankind to build a better society and seek the path of righteousness.

Producer 'Fada Rees' is joined by legendary Jamaican Trombone player 'Vin Gordon' (The Wailers, Studio One Lee Perry, Aswad...) alongside UK saxophonist Player 'Leroy Horns' (Resonators band & Roots Garden records). The rhythm track with its live instrumentation, driving bassline & wild dubwise mixing pays homage to Jamaica's golden era of 1970's .. reminiscent of the sound of King Tubby's & Channel One studio's.

KIng Kurk is an inspiring artist & incredible human being! After being injured in a car accident and losing his sight over 20 years ago he has continued to pursue his musical goals undeterred.Hailing from the rural parish of St Thomas on the Eastern side of Jamaica Kurk continues despite his visual impairment to live a totally self-sufficient lifestyle farming, shopping, cooking, cleaning and of course writing and recording his songs.
